Before you start

  • Your niche and who you helpYour niche, and who you help, described as specifically as you can. This is the input that matters most.
  • Your brand and a buttonOptional: your brand or site name, and a button to show after the results (text and link, for example your booking page).
  • Somewhere to publishTo publish: a WordPress site, ideally with the free Aha Studio Connector plugin, or a free Netlify account, GitHub, Cloudflare or your own cloud storage. Or just share the calculator's own link.
Sign in first, so the calculator is saved to your account and its leads come to you.
PART 01

Build your calculator

0 of 8 done
  1. Open Traffic MagnetsAt trafficmagnets.ahastudio.net, or press Start something new on your account page and choose Calculator. Want a whole site of calculators instead? See the Calculator Sites guide.
  2. Fill in your niche and who you helpFill in Your niche and Who you help, as specifically as you can (both required). The more specific the audience, the sharper the questions and the more personal each visitor's report. The Broad · Good · Sharp bar under it says how specific it is, with a tip. Add your Brand or site name and open Button after the results if you like, then press Design my calculator. Or say it once in Tell it in your own words (type it or press Say it), press Fill the form, and check the fields it filled; Try the example shows how. For a pay, tax, legal, health, insurance or investing calculator, a notice shows: it carries a disclaimer under the result and on its page, and you should check its formulas and results against official sources before publishing.
  3. Optional: who it is for, and the voiceIf you build for clients, pick the client under For (your client profiles are under Your account, Clients): the work uses its brand colour, voice, call to action and lead notifications, and is saved under that client in Your work. If you saved personas under Your account, Personas, pick one under Persona (BETA) to write in its voice and follow its Always and Never rules for this task; left on the default, it uses the client's default persona, else yours, else your profile voice. Aha Studio's own honesty rules always apply too. Each picker shows once you have saved a client or a persona.
  4. Optional: a brand colour for this calculator pageType or pick a colour for this calculator page only under Brand colour under Button after the results: a 6-digit hex colour like #1D4ED8. Leave it empty to use your profile or client colour (the box shows that colour). A colour too light for white text is darkened so buttons stay readable. On a calculator page already built, change it under Brand colour with the publish options and press Save colour, then publish again: the preview, the ZIP and every host use the new colour, and the live calculator page changes when you republish.
  5. Watch it profile your audience and brainstorm ideasYour audience shows as six tiles: their frustration, what they tried, their words, what they won't say, what earns their trust and how to talk to them. Then up to 8 calculator ideas at Pick the calculator to build, each with its key inputs and pain point; the Recommended one (the most searched, or the one for the search you picked) is picked to start. Switch if another fits your offer better, then press Build this calculator.
  6. Optional: sharpen the profileUnder Sharpen this profile, press Answer 5 questions and answer them (their frustrations, what they tried, their own words, what they hesitate to admit, what makes them trust a free tool). Every personal report then uses the sharper profile. Before you pick, Get new ideas from the sharper profile asks for new ideas from it; after the build, Also redesign the calculator with it rebuilds the calculator.
  7. Let it finishDesigning the questions, writing the page around the calculator, then checking and packaging. It runs 8 quality checks (step count, questions per step, an optional free-text question, "Other" choices, fallback results, the page sections, the SEO title and the meta description).
  8. Try itUse Try it exactly as a visitor would, then The page around it for its six sections (open Preview the whole page to see it). Quality checks beside it lists the 8 checks, and Sharpen it is there too. Not the right calculator? Press Build a different idea instead, pick another and press Build this calculator.
PART 02

Your calculator is live

When it is ready, the bar at the top jumps to Your calculator, Share and publish, Visits and leads and Next. Share it or publish it shows your calculator's own link (with Copy link and Open) and one tile per place to publish (WordPress, Netlify, Download ZIP, GitHub Pages, Cloudflare Pages, Cloud storage, Azure Blob), each saying Connected, Ready or Set up needed; pick one and its panel opens below. Visits and leads counts visits this week (one per visitor tab, on the calculator's own link and wherever it is embedded), finished calculators, visitors who asked for their report and the finish rate once there are visits. If the calculator is not on your account yet, press Add this calculator to your email first.

PART 03

Put it on your website

0 of 4 done
  1. Create an application passwordIn WordPress: Users > Profile > Application Passwords.
  2. Connect your sitePick the WordPress tile, then in Put it on your WordPress site: site address, username and the application password, then Connect site. It checks the connection and then saves the page as a draft with the calculator inside, in one go (Reaching your site, Checking the password, Saving the draft page).
  3. Install the free Aha Studio Connector pluginVersion 1.1 or later. With it, your calculator goes into the page as a shortcode that works for every author and sets the meta description for you. Without it, the calculator goes in as an embed that only an Administrator can save.
  4. Review the draft in WordPress, then publishChanges later go out with Publish again (updates the same page).

Not on WordPress? Pick another tile (below), or share your calculator's own link from Share it or publish it.

PART 04

Publish somewhere else

On your plan, pick its tile in Share it or publish it. The calculator stays embedded from Aha Studio, so it keeps improving after you publish, and its leads still come to you.

  1. 1Create a token In Netlify, create a personal access token (User settings > Applications > Personal access tokens).
  2. 2Connect and deploy Under Publish to Netlify, paste it, press Connect Netlify, then Deploy to Netlify. The calculator's page goes live as its own website. Deploy again updates the same site.
PART 05

Your code, ads and visitor stats

0 of 2 done
  1. Add your own code and adsOpen Your code and ads (BETA) with the publish options. Paste Head code (analytics, a pixel, a site verification tag) and Every page code (a chat widget, a booking button, an opt-in form), and In the article code (an ad unit or a sign-up box) at the place you pick. Under Ads, Add AdSense auto ads takes your publisher ID, and the ads.txt box lists your ad networks. Press Save code, then publish again to put it on your live calculator page. The previews never run it. Only you, the owner, can add code.
  2. Sell ad spots and count visitorsEvery site you publish is listed under Your account, Ads and stats (BETA). Switch on Ads and Stats for a site, set up your Ad spots, make banners in the Banner maker (design one there, make an AI image on your own OpenAI key, or upload your own), and read Ad analytics and Visitor stats. A new spot goes live the next time you publish the site it shows on.
PART 06

Leads

How they are collectedBefore their report, visitors see Where should we send your results? and enter their name and email. They can press Skip, just show my results. This is on by default; untick Ask visitors for their email before the report and press Save to show the report straight away.
Where they are storedIn Aha Studio, with the calculator on your account, each with every answer the visitor gave and the page they used it on. They are listed under Visits and leads, only for you, signed in, and its tiles count them. Deleting the calculator from Your work deletes its leads too.
How they reach youEach lead is emailed to every address in Send each lead to (up to 5, comma or one per line, so an agency, its client and a third person can all get it; your account email when that is empty), sent by Aha Studio's own email service. Press Save. Every lead is stored before it is sent, so a failed email, webhook or list never loses it; anything that did not arrive is shown under that lead as Not delivered.
Add them to your email listOpen Also send to your email list (paste your autoresponder's HTML form code), paste the raw HTML form code from BirdSend, AWeber, GetResponse, Mailchimp, Kit (ConvertKit), ActiveCampaign, Systeme or another autoresponder, and press Add form. You see what was found, for example Sends to app.birdsend.co · email field: email · 2 hidden fields. Type a test name and email and press Test to check it, or Remove to take it off. Each new lead's email (and name, when the form asks for one) is then added to that list. Up to 3 forms. Use the HTML version of the form, not the JavaScript one; the code is only read for its address and fields, never shown or run.
Send them to Zapier, Make or your CRMOpen Webhooks (Zapier, Make, your CRM) and paste up to 3 https:// addresses, one per line, then press Save. Each lead is posted to every one as JSON.
How to download themPress Download all as CSV under the list (your latest 1,000 leads).
All your leads in one placeEvery lead from every project is also in Your account, Leads: filter by AI worker, project, date or failed delivery, open a lead for every field and its delivery log (with Retry for a failed push to your email platform), set its follow-up status, add private notes, and download the filtered list as CSV.
PART 07

Bulk calculator ideas

0 of 4 done
  1. Open Bulk ideasOpen Bulk ideas (signed in, on a plan). Describe the niche and who you help, or pick Use a calculator's profile to reuse the audience profile of a calculator you already built. Pick the Google country under Search market (type to find any of 98 markets) and the Search language where the country has more than one. When the language is not English, the form says so: the idea list is written in English, with Google results and search numbers for that language. With a client picked under For, the list and every calculator you build from it use that client's profile.
  2. Choose how many ideasFrom 20 to 100. They are written 20 at a time and the progress card ticks off each batch; repeats of an idea already on the list are left out and counted.
  3. Monthly searches (optional)Tick Add real monthly searches to look up each idea's search phrase on DataForSEO. A phrase with no data says No search data; nothing is estimated.
  4. Build onePress Build this calculator, then Yes, build it: it uses one of your monthly calculators and goes straight to designing the questions. Download CSV saves the whole list.
PART 08

Widget rotator and A/B test

0 of 4 done
  1. Open Widget rotatorOpen Widget rotator and press New rotator. Pick 2 to 6 of your calculators, or the same calculator twice with a different headline or button, and choose what counts as a win: completed calculators or leads.
  2. Paste one embed codeCopy embed code works on any web page; Copy WordPress shortcode works with the Aha Studio Connector. Each page view shows one variant, and a returning visitor keeps seeing the same one.
  3. Read the resultsViews, starts, completed calculators and leads for each variant, with rates per view. A winner is only shown when each variant has at least 100 views and the difference passes a two-proportion z-test at 95% confidence; until then it says Not enough data yet or No clear winner yet.
  4. Pause or pick a winnerPause stops new visitors seeing a variant. Pick as winner shows that variant to everyone, with no change to your page; Resume the test starts rotating again. Only counts are stored, no visitor details.
PART 09

Personal reports and your allowance

Each personal report is written by AI from the visitor's answers. Your plan includes a monthly number of personal reports across all your calculators; when they are used up, visitors get the standard results (their numbers plus tips) until the month resets. To keep personal reports going, add your own AI key on your account page under Keys and connections (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google or OpenRouter), then choose the provider and model under Text and reports (Refresh models lists the current ones). Reports beyond your plan then use your key.

ON YOUR PLAN20 calculators a monthBulk ideas build from the same monthly number. Unlimited with your own AI key and DataForSEO login after your first 14 days.
PERSONAL REPORTSA monthly numberIncluded in your plan, across all your calculators.
FIRST 14 DAYS2 calculatorsYour account can hold 2 calculators. See the refund policy.

Your plan also includes a monthly amount of AI work, shared by all your AI workers, and building calculators and personal reports both count toward it. When this month's is used, the AI work carries on with the same key and model you chose under Text and reports. Without a key, building resumes on the 1st and visitors get the standard results until then.

PART 11

Agent-ready (experimental)

Agent-ready means AI assistants can use your calculator or form directly, the way a person would, but faster.

Why it mattersGoogle says search is becoming an "agent manager". AI agents will start doing tasks for people, like working out a quote or booking. If your calculator is agent-ready, the agent can use yours.
When to use itUse it on calculators and forms you want found and used. It's early, so it's off by default and safe to try.
What it does hereThe calculator becomes a tool an agent can call with the visitor's answers. It gets back the same figures your calculator's formulas show. The written report still needs the person to finish the calculator.
What it never doesIt never submits a form, ticks a consent box or buys anything for someone. The person always checks the details and presses the button themselves.
How to turn it onIn the finished calculator, open Agent-ready check and turn on Make it agent-ready. Switching it on or off changes your published pages the next time you publish them. Your account default is on your account page under Profile.
Agent-ready checkLists every tool your page shows an agent: its name, what it does and the inputs it takes. For a calculator, Test the tool works out a sample with the tool and with the page and shows both answers side by side.
How it worksIt uses WebMCP, a proposed web standard that Chrome is trying out. Browsers without it ignore it, so your page looks and works exactly the same for everyone else.
